We got on the road around 9:15 this morning again in brilliant sunshine. It was a little more humid today than it has been. We were making pretty good time and the we saw a Cuban Coffee shop and decided that we needed another cup of coffee to see us through the morning. As we sat having our coffee, a couple of cuban men came to the take out window where we were sitting and ordered a cuban expresso. We started talking to them and they were very impressed with our riding. I told them I rode across the USA for a total of 3970 miles and the one man said that I must have a very strong heart. I told them that I hoped so! They then offered us a taste of their expresso. It was very good and both Keith and I plan to get some tomorrow. As we rode away, I heard one of them say to the other "4,000 miles!". It is nice to do things that impress others!

We continued on our way and began to cross the bridges between the various keys. It is fun to ride between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico and to see them both at the same time. We were making pretty good time as we were riding South west and the wind was out of the North east. It doesn't get any better than that.

The Wreck |
We stopped for a late lunch at the Wreck. I have stopped there on my trips before and it is always fun to sit out on the deck with the cool breezes. We ordered a lot of liquid with our lunch and left for the last 12 miles or so ride into Marathon. We found a motel, again one that I have stayed at before and settled in for the night. Tonight is laundry night. Keith and I are going to get up early and push on to Key West. I told him that there is no place to stop for lunch so we might as well go all the way and eat lunch in Key West.
