Keith and I got up around 7:30 or at least I did, Keith was up at 6:00AM. He was kind enough to bring me coffee back to the room. After we had breakfast, we were on the road by 9:00Am. It was a beautiful morning for a bike ride. Temperature in the mid 70's and clear skys. We made our way south to the Old Cutler Road bike trail. It kept us off of the roadway which was clogged with traffic, but it was not in great shape so our speed was held down to 8 and 9 mile per hour. Eventually we made it to Cutler and started riding on the roads again.

A man in a jeep went by us a couple of time and the last time we noticed that he went to the end of the road we were on and sort of blocked it. He got out of his jeep and waved us down. We were wondering who he was and what he wanted. He wanted to know about my B.O.B. trailer. He said that he has been considering making a trailer exactly like it so he can ride his small children around with him on his bike. We talked for a bit and then continued on our way.
We rode through miles of tree and plant nurseries which ring around Homestead Air Force base. I wondered how they could possibly sell all

of it.
We watched a large Air force plane making practice landings, We were directly under it one time as it came if for a landing. Pretty exciting!
We eventually worked our way back to highway One where we stopped to fill up with water at a CVS store. We talked to a man coming out of the store and he was very jealous of our trip, he said this something that he has wanted to do all of his adult life.
We left the CVS and started down Card Sound road with Alabama Jack's as our destination where we planned to have lunch. We finally got to Alabama Jack's around 3:30PM and decided that this would probably be dinner and not lunch. When we go there and sat down at our table, a couple of guys said that they had passed us on the road. We remembered them because they were on motorcycles and they waved as they went past. Not everyone does! They left and another motorcycle rider came in. We started talking to him, He said he lived about three blocks from the Holiday Inn where we stayed last night, We asked him how long it took him to get to Alabama Jack's. He said it took him about 40 minutes to travel the same distance that we took 6 hours!
We left and started on the last leg to Key Largo. It was about a 20 mile ride. We ran out of water with about five miles to go. It was getting dark by the time we got to the Holiday Inn. Luckily we were riding on a bike trail for the last five miles so we didn't have to worry about traffic. The shower was really nice after this ride, We went to the outdoor Tiki bar for a couple of drinks before we turned for the night.
